NPS Approves New Anchoring Services

The National Park Service has authorized Beach Bags Services to rent, deliver and install Alternative Anchoring equipment for houseboats on the waters of Lake Powell. The approved services include piloting houseboats to and from their anchoring locations.

We’re excited about Beach Bags’ unique ability to satisfy National Park Service (NPS) requirements for Alternative Anchoring. Beach Bags capacity to anchor houseboats safely, securely, and conveniently to both rock and sand shorelines, makes them ideal for on-lake mooring without drilling or digging – activities known to harm and damage the National Recreational Area’s resources.

“Prior to receiving this NPS Commercial Use Authorization (CUA) our services were limited to renting Do It Yourself Systems to private and rental houseboats,” commented, Jeff Doss, Beach Bags Services CEO. “We’ll now expand significantly beyond traditional rentals to offer an array of anchoring options to meet nearly every houseboat’s needs. Providing new services allows us to further our mission of creating better houseboating experiences, for both houseboaters and Lake Powell, while enhancing Beach Bags’ ease of use, accessibility, and value,” he continued.

We look forward to formally announcing our 2022 Services and anticipate they’ll include:

  • Do It Yourself Rentals
  • Full-Service Anchoring
  • Pre-Set Mooring
