In cooperation with the National Park Service, our Beach Bags crew has completed restoring the pinholes created during our 2022 Season Wind Load Testing Program. Repairs were made in December 2022 and January 2023 using a specialized mortar, JAHN, scientifically engineered to match the physical properties of sandstone in terms of elasticity and porosity as well as tensile and compressive strength. In total more than 250 holes were repaired. Before and after pictures can be seen below.
Prior to restoring the pinholes, Beach Bags received professional training via a 2-day, intensive workshop designed to help attendees master the traditional methods of masonry repair using JAHN Masonry Restoration Mortar Systems.
